2. natural talent for artistic self-expression
"Everyone with talent should have the chance to develop that talent." Academy of Art College, San Francisco. Students of art can be accepted everywhere to design the world-evoke emotional responses- form their beings in another human being.

A couple of fools in love in the 1950s produced me.
Dad's going to Dixieland, We will stay here instead for a while. It holiday time, dog time. No grinches here bitches, or is it gritches. Or bitchmen. gentle ladies and gentlemen. This microcosm of time these days are so sweet, Blessed silence, no one speaks. 2018-Dec 5. Actually at the Dixeland concert, AJ instructed the drummer on the proper cadence, it's ta-da-da-dum, ta-da-da-da-tum.

Studio business plan: you can read past...The plan is dynamic and stems from past work-herein I describe in both past and present tense, what we did and how we did it.
Business Plan startup: Lawyer-available if needed. Accountant: very helpful. Accts. payable/receivable and inventory were established. Next- the d.b.a. Had it for a few years until we boxed everything up. Not "inc.", nor "LLC" not an S corp., it's just me. Not a small business or a vendor. Just a producer of art on a very small scale. Under $5000 annually. If that.
Taxes-paid on time. Maintained inventory of collateral assets when given. Donations were received. Sales included certificates for future classes. This provided a realistic check of the financial situation and financial needs of the studio. It was a realistic beginning. We have stationery, business cards, receipts and expense billing forms, and a stream of constant expenses:
Computer media, photos, flyers, poster boards, digital media (custom logos) and content on a thumb drive are all available via a consistent and reliable
supplier in a turn-around environment of two weeks.
Actors, sound recordings services, videographers and production services are available for additional fees and planning time: out to four months.
Business statement: Second Story Studio is owned by D Bleak, and is an art display and educational workshop with students and one assistant. The address has changed periodically and is now at my home, consulting location and off site. The fees for service vary from $20.00 per hour for art lessons, $400.00 consultation and story board for film, to custom brochures and media (prices will vary).
Boom. Inception: 1999, Production of film 2002. Web Site 2012. Conceptual background favored production of Backgrounds, Foregrounds, Storyboards, Short films. No full length features were produced but have been contemplated. Interested customers proved to be Publishers, Advertising agencies, other Design studios. The main product was drawing, computer images and traditional images: work that gets done. That last phrase was valuable.
I delivered. Work that gets work? Not so much. Furniture design, ergonomics, psychology of color and lighting, and the role of the computer in architecture: received a cursory look. Computer arts: special effects, digital art, Video games, 2 D and 3 D animation, processor power and digital memory-not enough money to invest fully and make a space not already occupied. Now of course it is free. The Liberal Art of framing ideas, mastering tools and techniques and displaying these for the customer continues to be a hallmark of this studio. The portfolio format used was presentations in Power Point, or in color slides on a thumbnail contact sheet, or in a story board. The portfolio was fully protected and is protected when demonstrated on this site and others, except for items I designate as open source. Thus, any of the personal photos used here or unique designs used here have a identifying mark attached. We are especially proud of our 2002 work for a nursing education collaborative in California called THE MAKE BELIEVE HOSPITAL: TEACHING CHILDREN ABOUT NURSING, a ten-minute short film.
Zoom. The integration of the studio occurred from 2002 to 2005, in two offices in town. We rented for $500.00 per month, space within which we taught art, line, drawing, perspective, calligraphy-held seminars and a fashion show with business clothing and accessories.
Gloom. Then sadly the rent was too much and we needed to store the studio. It did not help that Mr. Landlord tore down the room in which we were securely ensconced, during our tenure (I guess we have to move since you are renovating these rooms and our stuff is here. Do I still have to pay you? )
Spume. Like so much flotsam and jetsons we journeyed out into real work away from the coddled denizens of County employment, along with our easily cashed-in pension, to benefit other homeless people and those with no means of upkeep. Ah... the ranks of us increased.... that is, we increased our ranks...okay Dave...there were more of us.
Flume. As slick as a waterpark full of kids with Norovirus, we scooted quickly out into the transitory existence we use to further the enterprise of art, science, discovery. Still taking assignments- we have achieved UMAMI. Examples of the work follow.
Tomb.
Photos for brochures completed for presentations.
Here's this page's Fun Exercise. * in what animated feature was the firm "Spume-Co" famous?
Below, an amazing sequence. Turn up your Volume!

Being well again: I decided to be ill for a long time and then I decided to be well.
Look at talk by Bill O'Hanlon, noted psychotherapist, who explains what PTSD is and how to begin to get over it.
Then...... OMG, he does go on for a long while...hang in there.... Also, another psychotherapist Jeffrey T. Guterman, Ph.D. demonstrates a rational humorous song and shame-attacking exercise, techniques used in rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). The use of the music from the song Misty qualifies as a "fair use" in keeping with U.S. copyright statute.
