Sixteen states, 8000 miles and Canada: Tucker Care Trip
"What was South America, Galapagos, and Machu Picchu like?" FAQ
Why can't everyone have peace, food, water, clothes, calm- why is it so unique that a person who is both male and female can suddenly be alive like everyone else? Why are we still looting, stealing, killing? Everyone deserves a place of shelter, a way to get around. I will pay for it. I did vote for the tax. Being safe- children all need to feel safe. Planes of people need to land without being blown up. Drills for emergencies need to be rare, or frequent without more emergencies. Why can't everyone live like everyone else, in changing and sharing my stuff I realized I am like the others but so unlike anyone else, and as a unique human I want to give of myself. I did, too. And received so much more on this trip than others. Not because of the cosmic reality of South America, civilizations mythic and extant- there were no hallucinogens, no weed, no sedatives. Not much caffeine either until we hit the hotels, then-eee-ho-lay mama. And, and and, coffee and coca leaves do not mix. Do not even do it.
Exhilaration, then, probably due to a zoom-zoom factor but also being accompanied by so many high level companions on this trip. My room mate was the chief caterer in Placer County. Our party was comprised of intellectuals and clowns, serious and fun. Old and older. My grey hairs weren't unique here. And that's how it was.
Do you know these men?

As we readied to leave the US, just a week before departure, the giant earthquake struck Guangzhou. China was in mourning for seven days, no TV and music on all channels of TV and radio, mourning children and families killed there. The panda reserve was damaged-we entered a country full of first aid trucks and disaster relief. It was an essential part of my visit. It remains with me still-the people are resilient, hopeful, action-oriented. I think we brought our healing spirit to China.
We were diverted to Shanghai, a modern amusement park of a city-tallest building, winding river, ancient historic Bund. We journeyed to Beijing, taught in hositals, went to Xian, and after to Shanghai, then back to Beijing and home.
We learned a lot about the Chinese companions traveling with us. My interpreter did not know how to say "urinary catheter". Not to lose face in front of many in the audience, she tried many combinations of words. Finally, the audience, being English-speaking-assured her that they knew what I was speaking about..
